McManus Memorial Lecture<\/a>\u00a0at the School of Canon Law of Catholic University of America will be delivered this October 30th by Duncan G. Stroik. Stroik, professor at Notre Dame, is associated with the \u201cReform of the Reform\u201d which seeks to\u00a0move the direction of liturgical renewal since Vatican II in a more traditional direction. The title of Stroik\u2019s talk is \u201cChurch Architecture Since Vatican II.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stroik.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-27814 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stroik.jpg\" alt=\"Stroik\" width=\"214\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a>Stroik is founding editor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacredarchitecture.org\/authors\/duncan_stroik\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Sacred Architecture<\/em><\/a>\u00a0 journal, author of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stroik.com\/press\/the-church-building-as-a-sacred-place\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Church Building as a Sacred Place: Beauty, Transcendence and the Eternal<\/a>,<\/em> and co-editor of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/architecture.nd.edu\/research-publications\/faculty-publications\/reconquering-sacred-space\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reconquering Sacred Space<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/McManus.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-27815 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/McManus.png\" alt=\"McManus\" width=\"120\" height=\"171\" \/><\/a>Msgr. Frederick McManus was a <em>peritus<\/em> (expert) at Vatican II, he presided at the first English Mass in the U.S. in 1964, and he was a leader in the implementation of the liturgical reforms after the Second Vatican Council. He served president as of the Liturgical Conference, was instrumental in establishing the FDLC <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fdlc.org\/\">http:\/\/www.fdlc.org\/<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 , and was a member of ICEL <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icelweb.org\/\">http:\/\/www.icelweb.org\/<\/a> from its founding in 1963. He was dean of the School of Canon Law at Catholic University of America.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/canonlaw.cua.edu\/events\/mcmanuslectures.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">Previous speakers in the McManus lecture series<\/a>\u00a0include Cardinal Godfried Danneels, Kevin Seasoltz, Bishop Donald Trautman, John Baldovin, Bob Taft, Thomas Kroskicki, and Alan Detscher.
