Omnes proinde qui haec praestant, tum Ecclesiae officium explent, tum summum Sponsae Christi honorem participant, quia laudes Deo persolventes stant ante thronum Dei nomine Matris Ecclesiae.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Slavishly literal translation:<\/p>\n<p>85. Thus all who attend these [services] both fulfill an office of the Church and participate in the highest honor of the Bride of Christ, because rendering God\u2019s praises they stand before the throne of God in the name of Mother Church.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Art. 85 continues art. 84 in its designation of the faithful who celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours. It should be clear that the Divine Office is envisioned as the prayer of the entire Church, not simply a clerical duty or the monastic opus Dei. The article also emphasizes one aspect of the celebration of the Hours: the praise of God.
