(I&#8217;ve always found the German word for these priests amusing &#8211; <em>Weltpriester<\/em>.) 59% of the <em>Weltpriester <\/em>favor elimination of mandatory celibacy, 31% favor retaining it, 10% refrained from answering. 51%\u00a0affirm the suitability of women for ordination. The older the priest, the more likely he favors eliminating mandatory celibacy, up until age 75, at which age the older priests start to agree with the younger ones to retain it.\u00a0Gee, I thought (and\u00a0so many of us were hoping) that some desires lessen with age.
