Over the years a number of Taiz\u00e9 chants have been modified &#8211; this happened especially at the beginning of the 1990s. Sometimes the motive behind the changes was an attempt to produce a more inclusive, or a more &#8220;politically correct&#8221;, text. In the case of others chants, changes seem to have been introduced for other reasons, not all of which are easy to discern.
