{"id":21407,"date":"2013-09-24T05:46:47","date_gmt":"2013-09-24T11:46:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=21407"},"modified":"2013-09-24T05:46:47","modified_gmt":"2013-09-24T11:46:47","slug":"photographic-faux-pas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2013\/09\/24\/photographic-faux-pas\/","title":{"rendered":"Photographic Faux Pas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Below is a YouTube video that was brought to my attention.\u00a0 In this 41 second clip, a minister admonishes the photographers at a wedding ceremony for being too intrusive during the service.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oReLN5nntKw?feature=player_detailpage\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"446\" height=\"251\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I think we can all agree that photography, especially at weddings, can be a bit intrusive and at times perhaps even irreverent.\u00a0 At the same time, I know of very few people who would out-right ban photography, because capturing those special times in our lives on film \u2013 or perhaps more likely memory card \u2013 is important to us.\u00a0 While it is hard to tell from a 41 second clip whether the actions of the photographers did in fact warranted such a strong reaction from the minister, it seems to me that the minister went overboard in his reproach.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder what you think is proper etiquette for photographers during church services?\u00a0 What is acceptable and what is unacceptable?\u00a0 Where should they stand?\u00a0 When should they not take photos?\u00a0 Please comment below with your thoughts on photography during liturgy so that perhaps we can all avoid the photographic faux pas displayed above.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wonder what you think is proper etiquette for photographers during church services?  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":51,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_feature_clip_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false},"categories":[1191],"tags":[2546,1152],"class_list":["post-21407","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-technology-and-worship","tag-church-photography","tag-youtube"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
