The discussion will be moderated by <strong>Rita Ferrone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Antonio Alonso<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tony Alonso is one of the most prominent voices in contemporary liturgical music. His music reflects an understanding of the multicultural needs\u00a0of the contemporary church as well as a commitment to strong ritual song. In addition to several published collections of liturgical music with\u00a0GIA\u00a0Publications\u00a0(Chicago, Illinois) and\u00a0World Library Publications\u00a0(Franklin Park, Illinois), Tony\u2019s music appears in compilations and hymnals throughout\u00a0the world.\u00a0Tony holds a Bachelor of Music degree in choral conducting from Northwestern University and a Master of Arts degree in theology from Loyola\u00a0Marymount University. An emerging theologian, Tony is currently pursuing a PhD in the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory University in\u00a0Atlanta, Georgia, where he is focusing on liturgical theology, ritual studies and practical theology.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Rob Glover<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rob Glover shares his musical gifts as improviser, guitarist, pianist, organist, cantor, accordionist, composer, arranger, recording artist, and conductor. He combines his love of hymns, chant, jazz, popular music and classic hymns with his love of the liturgy. His newest recording with Elliot Wimbush \u201cMy Life Flows On\u201d \u00a0has instrumental and vocal music for health and wholeness and is published by World Library Publications-Chicago. His revised mass setting and recording \u201cMass of Plenty\u201d is published by GIA Publications-Chicago. Other GIA recordings include \u201c\u2019Round the Table\u201d and \u201cMusic in the Air. Popular compositions include \u201cShine on Us\u201d, \u201cThe Honduras Alleluia\u201d, \u201cPeace Child\u201d, \u201cAve Maria\u201d, \u201cCome and Eat This Living Bread\u201d, \u201cPraise to the Trinity\u201d, and \u201cPlenty Good Room\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Rob\u2019s master of music degree is from the University of Minnesota in Church Music with emphasis in choral conducting, organ and voice performance. His BS degree is in Music Ed from Northern State University, Aberdeen, South Dakota. Rob\u2019s music vocation began in the Sioux Falls Diocese in his small parish and then in Newman Centers during college days. He studied church music, organ, composition and orchestration at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas for one year. Rob\u2019s first church music position was in 1973. He has ministered in churches in South Dakota, Florida, and Minnesota. He began employment in 1981 with the Church of St. Therese, a suburban parish of 1200 families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fr. Paul Turner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paul Turner is pastor of\u00a0<a title=\"St Anthony Parish in KC\" href=\"http:\/\/309benton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">St. Anthony Parish<\/a>\u00a0in Kansas City, Missouri.\u00a0 A priest of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.diocese-kcsj.org\/\">Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph<\/a>, he holds a doctorate in sacred theology from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.santanselmo.net\/\">Sant\u2019 Anselmo in Rome.<\/a><\/p>\n<div>His publications include\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltp.org\/p-2230-at-the-supper-of-the-lamb-a-pastoral-and-theological-commentary-on-the-mass.aspx\">At the Supper of the Lamb<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(Chicago: Liturgy Training Publications, 2011);\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.litpress.org\/Detail.aspx?ISBN=9780814662427\" target=\"_blank\">Glory in the Cross<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(Collegeville: Liturgical Press, 2011);\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rpinet.com\/products\/mlbi4.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>ML Bulletin Inserts<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(San Jose: Resource Publications, 2012); and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wlp.jspaluch.com\/7917.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Celebrating Initiation: A Guide for Priests<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(Chicago:World Library Publications, 2008). \u00a0He is a former President of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.naal-liturgy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">North American Academy of Liturgy<\/a>, \u00a0a member of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/societas-liturgica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Societas Liturgica<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cal-liturgy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Catholic Academy of Liturgy<\/a>. \u00a0 He is the 2013 recipient of the Jubilate Deo Award (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.npm.org\/presence\/awards.htm\">National Association of Pastoral Musicians<\/a>) and the Frederick McManus Award (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fdlc.org\/Awards_McManusRecipients.htm\">Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions<\/a>). \u00a0 He serves as a facilitator for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icelweb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">International Commission on English in the Liturgy<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>Rita Ferrone<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Rita Ferrone\u00a0is an award-winning writer and speaker on issues of liturgy, catechesis and Christian initiation in the Roman Catholic Church.\u00a0She holds an MDiv from Yale Divinity School, where she also received an alumni achievement award for congregational ministry. She serves on the board of the Yale Institute for Sacred Music, and teaches in their summer seminar for parish leaders, the Congregations Project.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Rita is the author of several books, including,\u00a0<em>Liturgy: Sacrosanctum Concilium,<\/em>\u00a0in the Paulist Press series,<em>\u00a0Rediscovering Vatican II; Sourcebook for Sundays and Seasons 2006\u00a0<\/em>(LTP);<em>\u00a0and On the Rite of Election\u00a0<\/em>(LTP). She is also co-author of the series,<em>\u00a0Foundations in Faith\u00a0<\/em>(RCL Benziger).\u00a0A frequent contributor to Commonweal magazine and other Catholic journals, Rita blogs at Pray Tell, dotCommonweal, and TeamRCIA.
