While the shift from a single-year lectionary system with Epistle and Gospel readings to a three-year Sunday and solemnity system with Old Testament, New Testament non-Gospel, and Gospel readings conjoined to a two-year weekday lectionary system with Epistle and Gospel readings for Mass may be the most obvious result of article 51, the lectionary offerings for all sacramental celebrations and for the Liturgy of the Hours have in fact been \u201clavishly\u201d increased.
