Dear God, creator of women in your own image,
\nborn of a woman in the midst of a world half women,
\ncarried by women to mission fields around the globe,
\nmade known by women to all the children of the earth,
\ngive to the women of our time
\nthe strength to persevere,
\nthe courage to speak out,
\nthe faith to believe in you beyond
\nall systems and institutions<\/strong>
\nso that your face on earth may be seen in all its beauty,
\nso that men and women become whole,
\nso that the church may be converted to your will
\nin everything and in all ways.<\/p>\n

We call on the holy women
\nwho went before us,
\nchannels of your Word
\nin testaments old and new,
\nto intercede for us
\nso that we might be given the grace
\nto become what they have been
\nfor the honor and glory of God. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Saint Esther<\/strong>, who pleaded against power
\nfor the liberation of the people, pray for us.
\nSaint Judith<\/strong>, who routed the plans of men
\nand saved the community, pray for us.
\nSaint Deborah<\/strong>, laywoman and judge, who led
\nthe people of God, pray for us.
\nSaint Elizabeth of Judea<\/strong>, who recognized the value
\nof another woman, pray for us.
\nSaint Mary Magdalene<\/strong>, minister of Jesus,
\nfirst evangelist of the Christ, pray for us.
\nSaint Scholastica<\/strong>, who taught her brother Benedict
\nto honor the spirit above the system, pray for us.
\nSaint Hildegard<\/strong>, who suffered interdict
\nfor the doing of right, pray for us.
\nSaint Joan of Arc<\/strong>, who put no law above the law of God, pray for us.
\nSaint Clare of Assisi<\/strong>, who confronted the pope
\nwith the image of woman as equal, pray for us.
\nSaint Julian of Norwich<\/strong>, who proclaimed for all of us
\nthe motherhood of God, pray for us.
\nSaint Th\u00e9r\u00e8se of Lisieux<\/strong>, who knew the call
\nto priesthood in herself, pray for us.
\nSaint Catherine of Siena<\/strong>, to whom the pope listened, pray for us.
\nSaint Teresa of Avila<\/strong>, who brought women\u2019s gifts
\nto the reform of the church, pray for us.
\nSaint Edith Stein<\/strong>, who brought fearlessness to faith, pray for us.
\nSaint Elizabeth Seton<\/strong>, who broke down boundaries
\nbetween lay women and religious
\nby wedding motherhood and religious life, pray for us.
\nSaint Dorothy Day<\/strong>, who led the church
\nto a new sense of justice, pray for us.

\nMary, mother of Jesus<\/strong>,
\nwho heard the call of God and answered, pray for us.
\nMary, mother of Jesus<\/strong>,
\nwho drew strength from the woman Elizabeth, pray for us.
\nMary, mother of Jesus<\/strong>,
\nwho underwent hardship bearing Christ, pray for us.
\nMary, mother of Jesus<\/strong>, who ministered at Cana, pray for us.
\nMary, mother of Jesus<\/strong>, inspired at Pentecost, pray for us.
\nMary, mother of Jesus<\/strong>, who turned the Spirit of God
\ninto the body and blood of Christ, pray for us. Amen.<\/p>\n
