{"id":1326,"date":"2010-03-14T15:12:02","date_gmt":"2010-03-14T20:12:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=1326"},"modified":"2010-12-18T12:58:31","modified_gmt":"2010-12-18T18:58:31","slug":"being-right","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2010\/03\/14\/being-right\/","title":{"rendered":"Being Right"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>More wisdom from Rory Cooney &#8211; I think he&#8217;s very right about this!\u00a0 &#8212; Ed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Over the years, as I\u2019ve reflected on my life as a human being, husband, father, and Catholic, I\u2019ve come gradually to the conclusion that <strong>\u201cbeing right,\u201d that most prized of Catholic virtues, is overrated<\/strong>. I have learned this from Jesus Christ, who \u201cthough he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.\u201d You can\u2019t be more \u201cright\u201d than being God, and yet Christ laid all that aside, and \u201cbecame sin\u201d for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). What matters most is not being right, but being one. \u2026 No matter what translations we use (or even if we should stick with Latin and Greek, for that matter), it will be of some comfort to know that our actions speak louder than words, more beautifully and convincingly than our music.
