(St. Jerome translated the Bible into the vernacular of the day, Latin, in the fourth century &#8211; the &#8220;Vulgate&#8221; version.) Or, <a href=\"http:\/\/translate.google.com\/translate?sl=auto&amp;tl=en&amp;js=n&amp;prev=_t&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;layout=2&amp;eotf=1&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.osservatoreromano.va%2Fportal%2Fdt%3FJSPTabContainer.setSelected%3DJSPTabContainer%252FDetail%26last%3Dfalse%253D%26path%3D%252Fnews%252Feditoriali%252F2011%252F201q11-Un-nuovo-Girolamo.html%26title%3DUn%2Bnuovo%2BGirolamo%26locale%3Dit\" target=\"_blank\">Google&#8217;s translation<\/a> is surprising good, though not of course up to Nida&#8217;s translation standards.<\/p>\n<p>The new translation of the missal begins to be implemented in the U.K. this Sunday.
