GOSPEL COMMUNION: Solemnity of the Annunciation

Wednesday, March 25, 2020: Solemnity of the Annunciation

The Psallite suggestion for this celebration is the Magnificat setting used on the Solemnity of the Assumption (August 15), with its characteristic half-refrains at the end of each line of the canticle. The Magnificat is one of the four default songs for communion (see Appendix Three of the Simple Gradual), the other three being Psalm 34 (O Taste and See), Psalm 23 (The Lord Is My Shepherd) and Ubi Caritas.
