Antonio Alonso
Tony Alonso is one of the most prominent voices in contemporary liturgical music. His music reflects an understanding of the multicultural needsย of the contemporary church as well as a commitment to strong ritual song. In addition to several published collections of liturgical music withย GIAย Publicationsย (Chicago, Illinois) andย World Library Publicationsย (Franklin Park, Illinois), Tonyโs music appears in compilations and hymnals throughoutย the world.ย Tony holds a Bachelor of Music degree in choral conducting from Northwestern University and a Master of Arts degree in theology from Loyolaย Marymount University. An emerging theologian, Tony is currently pursuing a PhD in the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory University inย Atlanta, Georgia, where he is focusing on liturgical theology, ritual studies and practical theology.
Rob Glover
Rob Glover shares his musical gifts as improviser, guitarist, pianist, organist, cantor, accordionist, composer, arranger, recording artist, and conductor. He combines his love of hymns, chant, jazz, popular music and classic hymns with his love of the liturgy. His newest recording with Elliot Wimbush โMy Life Flows Onโ ย has instrumental and vocal music for health and wholeness and is published by World Library Publications-Chicago. His revised mass setting and recording โMass of Plentyโ is published by GIA Publications-Chicago. Other GIA recordings include โโRound the Tableโ and โMusic in the Air. Popular compositions include โShine on Usโ, โThe Honduras Alleluiaโ, โPeace Childโ, โAve Mariaโ, โCome and Eat This Living Breadโ, โPraise to the Trinityโ, and โPlenty Good Roomโ.
Robโs master of music degree is from the University of Minnesota in Church Music with emphasis in choral conducting, organ and voice performance. His BS degree is in Music Ed from Northern State University, Aberdeen, South Dakota. Robโs music vocation began in the Sioux Falls Diocese in his small parish and then in Newman Centers during college days. He studied church music, organ, composition and orchestration at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas for one year. Robโs first church music position was in 1973. He has ministered in churches in South Dakota, Florida, and Minnesota. He began employment in 1981 with the Church of St. Therese, a suburban parish of 1200 families.
Fr. Paul Turner
Paul Turner is pastor ofย St. Anthony Parishย in Kansas City, Missouri.ย A priest of theย Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, he holds a doctorate in sacred theology fromย Santโ Anselmo in Rome.
Rita is the author of several books, including,ย Liturgy: Sacrosanctum Concilium,ย in the Paulist Press series,ย Rediscovering Vatican II; Sourcebook for Sundays and Seasons 2006ย (LTP);ย and On the Rite of Electionย (LTP). She is also co-author of the series,ย Foundations in Faithย (RCL Benziger).ย A frequent contributor to Commonweal magazine and other Catholic journals, Rita blogs at Pray Tell, dotCommonweal, and TeamRCIA. She also writes reflections for โGive Us This Day,โ a prayer resource from Liturgical Press, and has authored materials forย Living the Eucharist, a three-year Paulist Evangelization program for parishes.ย She lives in Mount Vernon, New York.
