Anticipating this coming Sunday, which may or may not be the day you and your diocese are celebrating the Feast of the Ascension, Dr Hansol Goo, faculty and director of the Deikmann Center here at Saint John’s, breaks open John’s Gospel. This passage is a powerful reminder that the glorified, ascended Christ is not distant but deeply present with us—especially in our suffering—having descended into our pain and remaining with us always.
