FULL STOPS Pipe Organ Making Documentary

By Staff, January 14, 2026

The Full Stopsย documentary on pipe organ making at St. John’s Abbey, Collegeville, Minnesota is now available! Filmed by David Klassen, award-winning writer and producer, the piece was first released on December 3, 2025, at a reception hosted by Saint Johnโ€™s Abbey Organ Builders.

The film features music from Greg Zelek (Madison, Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra); Fr. Bob Koopmann (St. Johnโ€™s Abbey, Collegeville, Minnesota); Isabelle Demers (McGill University, Montreal, Canada) and Damin Spritzer (University of Oklahoma).

As Zelek explains during the filming of this documentary, the term “Full Stops” means that “you can go from absolutely no sound in a space and, in a matter of seconds, have all of the stops pulled on the organ and have this unbelievable sound that envelops you and envelops the space.”

Pray Tell extends the invitation to its readers to join us for liturgy and hear the Abbey Organ when youโ€™re in Collegeville!

Also, be sure to make note of an upcoming opportunity on Sunday, March 1, 3:00 PM, Saint Johnโ€™s Abbey Church. Organistย Damin Spritzerย will present a concert on the Abbey Church organ. This concert is free to attend, with free will offerings graciously accepted.
