September 11, 2022 : 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today’s Gospel in part reprises the parable of the Prodigal Son from the 4th Sunday of Lent, so the Psallite Song for the Table for today uses the same antiphon. This antiphon combines the Lord’s invitation to us in Holy Communion with the father’s words to his returning, repentant son. He offers us everything that he has: his own most precious Son.
The psalm verses selected for today (Psalm 32), pick up the theme of those who acknowledge their sins and whose offense is forgiven.
A demo recording of the antiphon and psalm tone, but using verses from the 4th Sunday of Lent this year, will be found here.
