GOSPEL COMMUNION: Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday

April 3/4 2021 : Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday

The antiphon given in the Missal and Gradual for the Mass of the Vigil and the Day is here paraphrased and combined with adapted extracts from one of the suggested psalms, Psalm 66. Additional alleluia refrains, suggested for the Easter Vigil, remain constant at the end of each line, finally blossoming at the end of each verse.

It is suggested that the first note of each verse be sung simultaneously with the last note of the final Alleluia, forming a “chant chain”. A recording from the CD Walk in my Ways will be found here. If further verses are required, the same music is used for the Easter Sunday Song for the Week (= entrance song) with adaptations from Psalm 95.
