Sr. Jeana Visel, OSB receives Teacher-Scholar Grant from the Calvin Institute of Worship

Pray Tell contributor and iconographer Sr. Jeana Visel, who directs the Graduate Theology Program at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, has been chosen as a recipient of a Calvin Institute Teacher-Scholar Grant for 2021-22.

The grant will fund the creation of a portable iconostasis for use in Byzantine liturgies at Saint Meinrad. Master iconographer Marek Czarnecki will serve as artist-in-residence, staying on the campus for several week-long visits to create six icons for the icon screen and to lecture on beauty in worship spaces.

More details on the grant are available on the Saint Meinrad site.

Congratulations, Sr. Jeana!

Congratulations to Marek Czarnecki as well. He is an extremely talented, (and should be better known church artist,) iconographer, and restorer. His work is sublime and I look forward to seeing the results of this project. http://seraphicrestorations.com/
