GOSPEL COMMUNION: 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

July 14 2019 : 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Once again the antiphon grafts together two thoughts from the Gospel of the day, Luke 10:27 and 10:28. The verses take the opening of Psalm 119, but with different verses from those suggested for the alternative antiphon in the Missal.

As with the previous week, the verse tone, based on the antiphon, includes a half-refrain for the assembly after every two lines of the psalm.

As we receive Communion today, we can sense that not only do we draw life and nourishment from what we receive at the Lordโ€™s table, but this life and nourishment also comes to us if we live a life of loving others as we love ourselves.
