Pray for the Monks of Norcia

This morning we learned the sad news that earthquake aftershocks have destroyed the Basilica of St. Benedict in Norcia, Italy. This is the home of a young community of Benedictines who worship with the pre-Vatican II liturgy. They are becoming well-known for the beer they brew and for their Latin chant recordings.

Let us pray for the monastic community, and all the people of Norcia and in Italy who are suffering from this tragic disaster.
