The Homeless Jesus Comes to the Vatican

This is nice. A life-size sculpture of the Nazarene, depicted as a homeless person lying down on a bench, has been placed at the entrance of the Office of Papal Charities. It was created by Canadian sculptor Timothy P. Schmalz.

BTW, an application to install this sculpture at the front of Methodist Central Hall Westminster was refused earlier by the City of Westminster Council because “the proposed sculpture would fail to maintain or improve the character or appearance of the… Parliament Square Conservation Area” owing to “its location within the City Council’s Monument Saturation Zone.”
