The Latest in Papal Vesture

As part of the on-going aggiornamento in Papal style, we now have the folksy papal sweater vestment.

    I’d rather see any prelate in Aran knit than a cappa magna. Besides, the monks at Cluny would’ve loved habits made of this fabric. Winter Matins, brrrrr!

    That does look nice and cozy, but I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for the Year of Mercy.

    You see how it kinda shows all the lumps and bumps, especially those around His Holiness’s midsection?

    I mean, that is a look that is not very forgiving.

    1. If that sweater vestment shows up on eBay later, it is sure to be a purl of great price.

    This would play well in Alaska too. Less appeal as one gets closer to the equator. I wonder who made it.
