One can only offer a Te Deum and lend his highest praise that a Catholic university is, at last, answering the true musical needs of the Church; for the transmission of what is most excellent in our musical heritage, past and present. This should have been done fifty years ago. But, Deo Gratias, it is being done. Let us hope that the musical and liturgical scene in US Catholicism develops in such a way as to provide a multitude of places for these well endowed and trained church musicians to serve.
